I am grown up now

On my feet

A woman and mother

Grasping all to childish innocence

Childlike touches like

Velvet smiles of leaves unmarred.

Just a key in place

Sounding and resounding of your nearness.

These things will last

They will remain

Carrying my past in shadow;

The single punch of laughter,

The imperfected stitches of character,

Unfurling Into marbles of gem

I will come back to you

Like a leaping dog

Whom you abandoned

Ready to welcome you home again.

Unveiling a life begun
